Accessible Master Bath

CB39EC14-9416-4047-9AC9-6D6502924355We recently helped a couple modify their new home for handicap accessibility, including a complete master bathroom renovation with wide doors, ADA-compliant toilet, grab bars and oversized shower.

A few months later, the couple asked us back. We built a caregiver suite in the lower level of their home. We built an access hallway and storage area and completed a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room suite.

Exterior Remodel

Wellesley Exterior Remodel

A young couple wanted to put down roots in this 1960s era colonial, but it needed some work. The front steps had settled, detaching from the house. There was no level ground for the kids to play catch and no stairs from the driveway to front door for visitors. The driveway was angled making it hard to back out of the garage without striking the retaining wall. The siding, trim and shutters had extensive rot, and the windows were original, single-pane and leaky.

Working with the homeowners, my draftsman and landscape architect, we developed a plan to transform the home’s exterior appearance and flow. We added an elegant stone and wood covered front entry. Stone retaining walls provided a level front lawn and access from the street. A redesigned driveway provided safer access to the garage and better flow for visitors who could now reach the front door. Exterior repairs, new trim detail and replacement windows extended the home’s life, making it more distinctive, comfortable and energy-efficient at the same time.

Wellesley Showpiece

Recent Project - 44 Valley

We purchased a 1950’s cape in a great Wellesley neighborhood. We explored ways to save the house, but a renovation just wasn’t feasible. We did save the specimen oaks and tulip tree that frame the property and built this gorgeous 7,500 square foot, stone and shingle colonial (pictured above).

Best of all, we finished in time for the family to move in before the holidays!

Barn Conversion

We had fun with this project.

We helped a couple in their 80’s by purchasing their farmhouse and barn… from offer to cash in their hands in less than 90 days. After renovating and reselling the farmhouse to first time buyers, we had a challenge: what to do with the barn.

We re-envisioned the barn as a single-family home with high ceilings and open spaces. We used custom cabinetry from a Marlborough Street mansion in Boston and created a 3,750 square foot, 5-bedroom showpiece.

We created this den out of thin air…

When we purchased a two-bedroom condominium in Weston for a downsizing tenant-client, we planned on an ordinary renovation. New paint, tile and granite, floors, appliances, fixtures, etc…

Then, we realized that by knocking down a few walls and reorganizing the floor plan we could find space for an additional room! Its cozy for sure, but its big enough for a home office or sitting room with a sofa-bed for the grandkids.
